It is very exciting week this week! Ola is coming home from Tokyo tomorrow!!! AND it is his brithday the day after!!!
On Saturday I met up with lovely baked and tanned Mr. and Mrs. Huynh, fresh from the Mexican playa and went with them to a bbq party. The cook-out as they call it, ended up being mainly a drink-in party for some of the attendies ;)
Bea was a very good hostess...shopping, pedicures and good food and ice cream, what do you possibly need more! Such a good counterbalance to my 10 hours working days ;)

Well, we did had a lot of good dinners too...aswell as some better and some less good deserts! Don't let the size fool you, the cake here looks amazing but the taste is just ok...yes only ok...thank god for the doggy bags!...hey I didn't say i couldn't eat it, just not all of it in one day! :)

Busy week in RTP but I did get to enjoy my time there, like seeing Filip and Bea and this lovely sunset by Crabtree Lake, just some 100 meters from where they live. Very cosy, if you ignore the mosquitoes ;)

San Diego is all about Mexican food (Huuugeeee taco salads and Chimichangas!) and Margaritas! Luckily, the the hotel has a great gym! ;)
Apple is apparently hiring ;)

Some sightseeing on the last day with Shruti and Mete from RTP! A Russian submarine from the Cold War, a ship used in the movie Master and Commander and some other old trading ships. Pretty cool inside and out, however the biggest of them all, the USS Midway, a carrier with all the planes still on, we missed because they close at 16...ain´t that typical!
Hot licks! oh yeah, if you fancy hot stuff this is the store for you! Only hot and extremely hot Mexican sauces to buy, if you have the guts! ;)

Beautiful sunset seen from the hill above La Jolla! Amazing and fancy comunity, great restaurants especially Roppongi!
The view from the room!

San Diego seems to be good for walking around...After 8 hours of a antenna course, on a Sunday, and with some jet-lag, a walk before sundown was needed! It is a bit colder here then I expected, only 22 degrees :(. The hotel that I am staying at is huge and overlooking the marina! Love it!
Highlight from about 15 hours of travelling: Seattle airport dome...Food on SAS flights hasn't improved yet, no! ;)

Sailing away!

Today I found a new hobby! Sailing! One of the greatest sports in the world! Notice how well I handle the rudder while "holding" a beer can. Also note the irresponsible person to the left, drinking beer.... without a safety vest.

Sailing preparations

Just some safety rules: 1. Stay on the boat 2. Stay low and away from the bom (the beam that the main sail is attached on) 3. Always keep two feet and one hand on the boat. This leaves one hand for... yeah beer drinking.

Sailing in Japan

Today Mathias and I went sailing!!! With this, Kamakura 2 class boat. Ain´t it a beauty?
